Formerly with Sir Michael Stoute, six-year-old Astro King came right back to form last time with a big-race win at York. He’s been penalised 5lbs for that win which on its own isn’t enough to stop him, but another step forward is needed which isn’t guaranteed at this stage of his career.
William Knight’s five-year-old was on quite a bad run of results, at least on paper, but he comes into this as a last-time-out winner having scored at Sandown earlier in the month. On known form he’s not certain to be at his best on this grou...

Sheikh Ahmed’s young three-year-old, trained by Ed Walker, is lightly raced, going the right way and keenly priced in the market. After a solid if unspectacular start, he won by some nine lengths at Nottingham in June and followed up over a mile at Newmarket next time out. He was well beaten at York last time over a mile, but gave the impression he...
