Boarding school is scary. It's a big change, and there's some aspects that are really hard when you once move there. As a freshman prefect, I saw a lot of kids go through stages of homesickness. That being said, Thacher is very good at making you feel welcome.

The teachers at Thacher stand out in the arena of academics, they are excellent and care very much about their students. Most of them will allow students to come to their homes late at night and review with them for a test the next day, or even just the day's lesson.
It is hard to have a diverse student population in such a small school, but Thacher has done a good job. Although the school has a much smaller endowment than comparable boarding schools, Thacher offers financial aid to many students.
