  1. Personally, I think Shock 2 is a bit better. Though that's mostly because it has a bigger reach. Most of the designers had never worked on a game, before. A few differences to note: Bioshock is a shooter. It follows many FPS tropes; very linear design and any upgrades are almost forced on the player. System Shock is an RPG Horror game.

  2. System Shock 2 is simply too hard. Let's put it this way, I found SS2 on Easy (while cheating) to be far harder than BioShock on Survivor. It comes down to the enemy respawn and the weapon degradation rates.

  3. Nov 11, 2020 · First off, the guns breaking is intended to add stress. It's a part of what makes the game scary. You can't rely on your defense. Second, Shock 1 and 2 were considered groundbreaking, because they deviated from the Doom, Quake and Half-Life styles.

  4. In my opinion, System Shock 2 is the best ever FPS/RPG game. It combines an excellent story with a really cool RPG system, and a solid FPS mechanic. It is very dated by today's standards, but at the time it was released it was fantastic.

  5. I regret calling System Shock 1 a mediocre game since it's better than System Shock 2 and it deserves that title. In my opinion, I think BioShock is the superior game in comparison since it's almost an exact copy of SS2.

  6. Sep 1, 2017 · I've always kept System Shock 2 in the back of my head as i game i ought to play but never got around to. Is it still considered worth playing, i've heard alot of good things about the story but also that the control's a bit clunky and the game being rather difficult.
