  2. Personally, I think Shock 2 is a bit better. Though that's mostly because it has a bigger reach. Most of the designers had never worked on a game, before. A few differences to note: Bioshock is a shooter. It follows many FPS tropes; very linear design and any upgrades are almost forced on the player. System Shock is an RPG Horror game.

  6. System Shock 2 is a great game too, it takes everything that worked in SS1, adds even better features puts in a game engine that is closer to modern engines. So if you can't get into SS1 I'd suggest you skip and go to SS2.
