The Diocese of Springfield in Massachusetts (Latin: Diœcesis Campifontis) is a Latin Church ecclesiastical territory, or diocese, of the Catholic Church in Western Massachusetts in the United States. It is a suffragan diocese in the ecclesiastical province of the metropolitan Archdiocese of Boston.
The diocese educates over 2,500 students in 12 elementary schools, two high schools. There are also two Catholic colleges in the Diocese of Springfield. Mercy Medical center, an affiliate of Trinity Healthcare, also operates in Springfield.

The educational work of the diocese requires the services of 750 sisters. The Sisters of St. Joseph have a normal college in Spring-field, an academy at Chicopee, and high schools in many parishes. They also do a great part of the parochial school work. The Sisters of Notre Dame conduct high schools at Worcester, Springfield, Holyoke, and Chicopee.
As the Superintendent of Catholic Schools, I am privileged to guide our schools in fostering the growth and development of young minds within the framework of our Catholic faith. Our legacy spans generations, nurturing students who embody the values of compassion, integrity, and service.
Holy Cross in Worcester, founded in 1843 as the first Catholic college in New England, has been closely associated with the growth of the diocese. Patrick Thomas O'Reilly, a native of Ireland, was consecrated the first bishop of Springfield, Sept. 25, 1870.
Springfield Catholic Schools prepares and empowers students, in an atmosphere of academic excellence, with God's help, to be sent forth as disciples of the Catholic faith and models of service.
