- “Shinjuku Swan” is a great manga adaptation, with all the pros and cons included in the category being quite evident. It is definitely very entertaining though. Rated: 7 • Jan 2, 2023 The likeability of Gou Ayano as Tatsuhiko and the surprisingly dense narrative ensures that Sion Sono's 'Shinjuku Swan' is better than your average manga-adaptation.

Perhaps the closest a live-action film has come to being anime. It's a wild, absurd ride with over the top villains and fight scenes. Not quite quintessential Sono, but still really good. Also It has the most intense bowling alley murder scene since There Will Be Blood. Added to Sion Sono Ranked
