Rome2rio is a good site for planning. The prices quoted are often off by quite a bit. Some good, some bad. I find it more useful as a guide to search the services separately. Note that it doesn't seem to be a dishonest price gouge, just inaccurate. Often if you click the links on the site the accurate prices are found.

IMO, It's a good website to provide general information on getting from one place to another, but for specific and detailed information in Italy it's better to use the rail company websites.
