I still to this day think The Ring is a decent movie. Scared the shit out of me as a kid, The Ring 2… all I can remember is that deer scene and how laughably bad it was. I’ve heard Rings 2017 isn’t that great… but is it worse than The Ring 2?

I haven't seen the true original version but the US version of the ring is probably one of the best horror movies ever made. The second one although not nearly as good was a quality horror movie in it's own right. Rings is like a bad parody of those original movies.
Overall great movie, I don't give it a better rating because it's not anything very original, not much new to see here (to be fair that's difficult on a third instalment of a series of movies) and even if the photography is really good, it's nothing spectacular.

The Ring is just nowhere near as good as Ringu, and it falters more than it succeeds. 7.5/10 Moment of the Film: I legitimately did like the added dream bit before Aidan (Yoichi) watches the videotape, it felt like a good addition. Unnecessary, but good. The Ring Two (2005) I was cautiously optimistic for The Ring Two.
