  2. Nov 27, 2012 · At the end of the movie Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides, Phillip is badly wounded and seems to be telling Syrena not to heal him but only to forgive him. She then drags him into the water and we never see him again.

  3. I think it's blandly shot, very poorly written, and the opposite of cinematic. The characters are flat and unmemorable, the ending is disastrously staged, and with the exception of Spanish guitar, it reuses themes of the first movie too frequently.

  4. The movie, in retrospect, is pretty bad. The plot is very thin and overencumbered in some areas, in my opinion. Having the plot center around Jack sparrow was a mistake.

  5. On Stranger Tides though actually leaves stuff more tenuous as the Pearl is trapped in a jar by the end with Jack working on a plan to try to free it. You could go with the thought that he knew how to get it out and was set but is still a big loose thread to me.
