  3. I think it's quite simple, Empire has the better Campaign experience, while Napoleon has the better battle experience. Personally, I think Fall of the Samurai is even better then those too in almost all regards, but obviously even more limited in scope and also less open.

  4. Depends on what you want. Empire offers one of the largest campaign, and what some consider the best trading system in the series. Napoleon is much more focused with and plays just like empire but better optimized and less bugs. I like Napoleon more than Empire.

  5. ETW runs better and plays better since the 6th patch. The AI's no longer psychotic, and actually offers a decent 'prosperity' point challenge.

  6. Nov 27, 2020 · Napoleon is far more streamlined and optimized than empire. Focusing on the European theatre and a tighter time frame and adding better replenishment mechanics. This in my opinion greatly improves the campaign experience and the AI is a lot more competitive.

  8. Feb 13, 2019 · FOTS is 100x better. Mechanically, it feels more responsive and 'tighter'. The major difference though is simply the campaigns. The campaign map in naploeon sucks, while fots is the shogun 2 campaign so it's large and replayable. If napoleon had empires map and faction variety, then the best game would be different
