This time last year, I traveled to Wellington, New Zealand to check out the set of Universal's Mortal Engines, the first adaptation of Philip Reeve's YA book quartet. Mortal Engines is the directorial debut of longtime Peter Jackson-collaborator Christian Rivers, who is supported on all sides by the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit powerhouse trio Jackson, Philippa Boyens, and Fran Walsh.
Mortal Engines is due to hit theaters in the USA and Europe December 14, 2018, and in Australia December 26, 2018.
