Yes it has drama. The Monogatari series, overall, is really good but like others have said it’s one of those shows that’s really polarizing for a few reasons. I’ll try to avoid spoilers. First, it has lots of fan service that borders on being really explicit at times.

Despite starting out as a "harem" setting, the main character falls in love with one woman in the first season and stays loyal to her. Monogatari series has a lot of dark satire which puts a lot of people off. Incest and pedophilia are often used as the basis for jokes and parodies.

But for us, we are going with the most popular choice on the table which is placing it here second on the Monogatari watch order - narratively we feel it is here that it fits best. And this one is even shorter. Nekomongatari: Kuro is only four episodes long and can be watched in one movie-length sitting quite easily. There is currently no way of viewing the series at the time of writing.

This is another one that can be quite hard to find. Koyomimonogatari is different to what has come before and is a series of short stories, 12 in total, focusing on Koyomi as he works to help the girls in his cohort in a variety of different ways. You can order it online for £19.99 at HMV.
