It’s a smarter and deeper film than it appears to be on the surface, and I greatly enjoyed Men & Chicken even though I can’t quite comfortably recommend it to everyone. Tuco may not be an honorable character, but Eli Wallach's hilarious performance makes him strangely likable. Unlike the genuinely evil Angel Eyes, the audience doesn't really want to see Tuco die in the end, but that doesn't mean they want to see him win either.
