Mel Gibson's MAVERICK: Thoughts on this long forgotten western comedy. Discussion. I actually enjoyed the movie. Gibson and Jodie Foster had solid chemistry and displayed strong comic timing. Good action scenes, James Garner, the original Maverick, was used properly with a big supporting role instead of a cameo.
