Their relationship has faced several obstacles and challenges throughout the show’s history, most of them caused by Homer. But despite the odds, Homer and Marge have still survived as a couple.
Basically, if Homer stayed in Alaska, he would most likely never see his family ever again, it's possible he could try and start a new family if he ever meets another women like Marge, or if he reunites with Mindy or Lurleen, but I honestly doubt it, and he'd probably live alone for the rest of his life.
