Imo, Love Nikki is the best-looking 2D dress up game atm. (If anyone knows others that are close enough in quality... please do recommend XD) No harm trying it out especially if you are more into 2D than 3D. I tried both LN and SN and stuck to LN in the end because I prefer the 2d artstyle.
But I personally find it rewarding when you complete a suit bc it's a set you chose for yourself bc you thought it was pretty. I'm mainly here for the lore (as messy as it is) and bc I have become addicted to it. LN is a fun game, but it's not worth to put your money into. Play as a F2P.
Shining Nikki is a lovely game, and in many technical aspects, is superior than Love Nikki… Like the “makeups” that are customizable piece by piece, and fit all skin tones, and the photo/posing feature is to die for.
