La Trobe Street is the last remaining CBD tram corridor without accessible tram stops. With low-floor E Class trams operating on Route 30, a major tram route along La Trobe Street, upgrading the tram stops along this corridor will provide greater accessibility benefits for tram passengers.
The Andrews government committed to upgrading six stops along La Trobe Street in the 2022-23 budget but none have been completed, and the 2023-24 budget released last month makes no mention of tram stop upgrades.

Sep 5, 2024 · Minister for Public and Active Transport Gabrielle Williams today announced 12 new level access tram stops have been installed along La Trobe Street - backed by a $68 million investment in the Victorian Budget 2022/2023.
