  1. Decade: Film is canon and necessary to watch. Movie Wars 2010: Canon to both Double and Decade and necessary since it serves as a prequel/ending for the former/latter. Double: Film is canon, not necessary unless you watch the post-series films as well.

  2. Decade: All Rider and Movie Wars are both canon. All Riders continue directly from where the episode end, and Movie Wars is set after the series. The Chou Den-O movie is set right after the Den-O episode as well, and the Den-O arc is just building up to it.

Neither of these is a hard rule, though (for instance, Heisei Generations Final is canon, but Movie War Core is not; Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future is canon, but Kamen Rider Zi-O: Over Quartzer is not).

  4. In recent years, villains were often derived mainly from the incumbent series' while the films' story drew conceptual themes from the predecessor series'.

Most Movie War films feature Legend Rider versions of the Kamen Riders' Collectible Devices. In some cases, the main Riders of each respective seasons will exchange powers; this may also occur in a...
