However, Fumio Kishida may actually like the series regardless his political purposes. If he wanted to get more voters to secure his election, he would say his favorite character is Tanjiro, Rengoku, or even Kagaya Ubuyashiki (the mastermind of the Demon Slayer Corps) instead of Akaza, a demon who killed the beloved 30-billion man in Japan :))).

Oct 1, 2021 · Unfortunately watching anime is still often looked down upon in Japan. Workers in anime and manga industry are living in poor conditions pretty much everyone knows that. If this can finally bring some change then so be it.
Not only the current prime minister, but Japanese politicians are increasingly referring to manga and anime in one way or another. Sometimes it's to express their political stance, and sometimes it's just a popularity contest.
