   • It might make more sense to start at the pilot, but if you want to start in the middle (maybe because you like the updated animation more), then go for it. There's no reason to follow family guy chronologically. It's rare that episodes refer to earlier episodes until pretty late in the series, and it usually seems lazy to be honest.

   I mean yes, some characters do change throughout the series, but you don’t really need to watch the episodes in order because every episode is it’s own self contained story. Like you could watch the most recent episode and not be confused.

   Watch 3 season, season 5 then 9 and 17. Very different styles but hilarious all around. See which era you like the most. Start with season 1 and get a feel for it, enjoy the old animation style. It gets really good seasons 3-10. just watch seasons 1-3 and forget about the rest of it.
