A. Good simple, cheesy slasher doesn’t require much of a story. It just needs a good set-up and location for some gnarly kills. House of Wax does that perfectly. It’s a hell of a lot better than a lot of trash being released as a slasher nowadays. There’s Someone in Your House on Netflix wishes it was half as good as House of Wax.
It's been said already, but the 2005 version of "House of Wax" is an enjoyably over the top and effects-driven slasher film. Recommend This is one of the better 00s remakes (and I use that remake term loosely because it owes a lot more to 1979's "Tourist Trap" than anything from the Vincent Price original) largely because of two aspects; the performances and the spectacle.

May 6, 2020 · Maybe this is just me yearning for “the good ole days” but I really think this film is vastly better than what people remember and unquestionably better than most modern theatrical horror releases. *You can stream House of Wax through Vudu or Amazon Prime Video, but don’t skip out on the DVD if you can.
