Despite being inspired by a true story, the trajectory this film traces is simply that of a narrative that doesn't even know how to deal with its themes, which range from sports to parenting, and adding salt to the wound, it's supposed to be a comedy, but if anything is really absent here it's laughs.

Home Team is not the greatest movie I’ve ever seen, but it does have some heart. In the spirit of The Bad News Bears / Mighty Ducks comes another sports movie with little kids trying to win a trophy.
