      • It can feel a bit limiting at first, but regardless of your rank, there are always a few fully stocked predetermined loadouts to choose from, so you're never at a disadvantage for being low-level.

  2. Yes! I'm glad someone pointed that out. When i first played Halo 4 at day one, 6 years ago, i was extremely underwhelmed by the graphics, especially in comparison to Reach: Ps2-quality textures, completely absent physics, and just a feeling of small and uninspired locations throughout the entire game. Halo Reach IMO is a much better looking game

    • Halo 3. Wes: Not only does the Warthog Run not suck, Jody, but its reprise in Halo 3 is probably still the most thrilling end to a FPS campaign I've ever played!
    • Halo 2. Morgan: I grew up hearing that Halo 2 is the worst of the original trilogy. I played it alongside everyone else in 2004, and as a dumb 8 year old, all I absorbed at the time was "this Scorpion part on the bridge totally rules."
    • Halo: Combat Evolved. Tyler Colp, Associate Editor: Halo: Combat Evolved gave us the words to talk about shooters the way we do now. It gave us the corridors, the choral intro, the projectile weapons, the Energy Sword, and the Master Chief.
    • Halo Infinite. Jody Macgregor, AU/Weekend Editor: Halo Infinite is the back-to-basics campaign, putting the Chief and an AI on a ring to zap aliens like the old days.
  3. It's a good game, but it loses some of the spirit of the og trilogy and a lot of people resent it for that. Pros: Graphically it's good, the ost is top-notch (some pieces are up to par with bungie's halo), gameplay is polished and the levels are diverse and well designed, with good enemy variety and a good sandbox.

The Halo 4 story plucks the Chief and Cortana from their slumber after Halo 3's somber ending and thrusts the duo towards a new foe that is even more threatening than a futuristic evil: an ancient evil. There is a short time skip involved that feeds into the narrative, which also means the galaxy-spanning war is pretty much behind everyone. The Cov...

It is clear from the moment you jump into Halo 4 multiplayer that the developer tried to modernize the experience to align it more with what was popular around the time of the launch. As a result, this is the most Call of Duty vibes I've received from a Halo game ever, bringing with it weapon loadouts, perks, and scorestreak rewards, making a tried...

I do not know what kind of anti-Xbox 360 aging cream Halo 4 applies every night, but other than the soft textures and shadows you can detect when you look closely, it is a beautiful game. Going for an apples to apples comparison, Bungie's Halo Reach released only two years prior to Halo 4 and for the same system, the venerable Xbox 360, but they so...

A few shaky bits aside, the Halo 4 campaign hit all the right notes for me thanks to the over the top absurd set pieces, the amazing voice acting, as well as the ever-increasing power level of Master Chief. This was a gorgeous game to go through, filled with interesting plotlines that managed to explore a more personal story surrounding our heroes....

Nov 1, 2012 · Halo 4 is a masterstroke everyone can and should celebrate, and its two guaranteed sequels instantly make the next-generation Xbox a must-own system, with Halo 5 its most anticipated title....

  5. Nov 6, 2012 · Halo 4 was an exciting new environment to explore, but huge disappointment. Halo 4 presents a fresh new start for the chef and a great set of mission but with one issue, the quantity of the of them was slim and the game is generally difficult.

  6. Nov 1, 2012 · Halo 4 is a return to the series’ roots of discovery, of wonder and, at times, of awe. It helps that it might be the most consistently great game of the series to boot.
