When I was a kid I liked it more than the first one probably because it was more like The Real Ghostbusters cartoon. Now that I’m older I see that the first Ghostbusters is a better movie, but still have a soft spot for 2.
The core idea/story for Ghostbusters 2 is awesome. The notion that human emotions actually do affect the environment, and the negativity of New York manifesting itself under the city and potentially bringing about the end of the world is a great concept.
I liked it as much as Ghostbusters 1. Speaking of good sequels, I still think Back to the Future 2 is the best of the three.
Mar 22, 2024 · Ghostbusters II is underrated and luckily remains warm, charming, and very entertaining, even decades later. The quibbles with its originality or even some of the cast performances are valid, but there is still more good than bad when it comes to the original Ghostbusters sequel.
