Otherwise known as Ghostbusters: Answer The Call, Paul Feig's all-female reboot of Ghostbusters- as part of a reinvigoration of the IP that would also have seen a Chris Pratt/Channing Tatum-led alt-team movie - was never a bad idea. For all the bleating online about "wokeness", that was a hollow complaint from people who don't really need to be lis...
The second installment of Sony's modern relaunch, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a bit of an enjoyable mess. The movie continues on from Ghostbusters: Afterlife by fully revolving the story around Mckenna Grace's Phoebe Spengler and the current state of the Ghostbusters. It's not afraid to make major franchise revelations and changes, showing a bol...
1989's direct sequel to Ivan Reitman's original Ghostbusters has many detractors, and sits near the lowest on Rotten Tomatoes, with Bill Murray's seeming disinterest a hot topic of criticism. In reality, it's still a fun caper, with a great villain in Vigo The Carpathian who managed to achieve iconic movie status despite barely even moving in his s...
Rather than a reboot or a direct sequel that follows the original Ghostbusters team, Jason Reitman made something that both continued their story and played into the affection in which the Ghostbusters universe is still held. Ghostbusters: Afterlifeis a legacy movie with a look to the future, but it crucially proves how well it knows its past while...

- Ghostbusters (1984) IMDb Score: 7.8/10. It’s hard to beat the original, and in the case of Ghostbusters, that couldn’t be truer. Assembling a cast filled with hilarious talent, the original Ghostbusters movie was lightning in a bottle.
- Ghostbusters 2 (1989) IMDb Score: 6.6/10. Whilst not as beloved as the first, and seemingly not worth a sequel for over 30 years, Ghostbusters 2 does a great job and reintroducing audiences to the Ghostbusters.
- Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) IMDb Score: 7.1/10. After 30 years, the original Ghostbusters timeline was back in action. Ghostbusters: Afterlife sets aside any anxieties that audiences might have that this is not Ghostbusters within the first five minutes, by not only showcasing the iconic piano keys and suspenseful opening but by bringing heart back into the series.
- Extreme Ghostbusters (1997) IMDb Score: 6.9/10. Still without a new Ghostbusters film, the franchise decided to introduce some fresh blood in the cartoon format with Extreme Ghostbusters, which acted as a follow-up to The Real Ghostbusters.
