I am trying to program a turn-based rpg battle system from scratch, and I'm having some problems determining how to program the system, especially the parts that handles data of the party and the enemies.
GameMaker. I have a feeling that this engine is past its prime, and I've always heard it's a real pain to use for bigger projects and turn-based games, and that it doesn't handle lots of UI well. Although I've seen similiar games made with it (like Undertale), so it's definitely possible. Godot.
