If instead you actually want to pursue academics, FSU is perfectly good, but note that you will have a harder time finding people with a similar passion. My greatest complaint about FSU is the inequality between departments and students. FSU's economics and business departments get a lot of donations from large companies.
I'm not meaning to say Florida fans are stingy and pricks, but it's just my experience. But hell in the end, choose what best suits you. Which school has the better department for your major, and the area you feel more comfortable with. Don't worry about going anywhere, where you don't know anyone.
The short answer is yes. Good value as a top 20 public university and by far one of the cheapest in the top 20. Although you probably need to be a little more specific. What's your major? Are you in-state or out-of-state? Are you looking for any specific club, groups, amenities, experiences, etc?
