   • As I mentioned, I share your frustrations and I'm certainly no shill for Match but it seems like dating apps are universally painful for both men and women, but IMO this perhaps might make it work a bit better for you and stop wasting all that time sending thoughtful messages to people who logged off 6 months ago. I used hinge for 24 hours.

   Is match a scam?

   • Yes, I think Match is a complete scam. Not in the "I don't think you get what you paid for" sense, but in the "either deliberately set up to be a scam or at least employees turn a blind eye" sense. When I joined, I noticed the exact same thing.

   I think you're more likely to find people looking for a serious relationship on paid apps versus free. I haven't had any success with free dating apps. I have a friend who has had some success with a paid service, I'm pretty sure it was match.com.
