  2. Faust: Love of the Damned is a great read and extremely violent. It is Tim Vigil at his peak. The last two issues took years to come out and seem to be half-assed, but the rest of the story is a great read. I like edgier comics and I really liked Spawn.

  3. Nov 26, 2007 · I have read Faust several times, although in German. It is a masterpiece! There should be some decent translations as Goethe was a star and is still considered to be the best German writer ever (I read some excellent translation into French and English is closer to German than French).

  4. I assume you mean Goethe's Faust, which is pretty basic as the classics go, especially part 1. I literally had to recite excerpts from Faust from memory in my elementary school German classes. If you're struggling with it that much I honestly don't know how to help you.

  5. Robert Nye's Faust was an unexpected pleasure, but really the best one was Thomas Mann's Doctor Faustus, in terms of good literature. I'll hunt for this box of books, but there's a possibility it's in the loft.
