Apr 1, 2009 · I've been reading through several of his short stories, and just finished reading the official rulebook for the pen & paper roleplaying game based on the Cthulhu Mythos universe. While I was reading a section here the other day, something ocurred to me.

it's hardly hidden. the ironborn words are practically straight out of Call of Cthulhu, not to mention the repeated references to Deep Ones, fish-people hybrids and toad monoliths. Hell, in Essos there are places straight up called K'dath, Leng and Carcosa.
