I would echo the sentiment of @user1475844787 in their post above - it is a nurturing environment and one that enables children to achieve their potential.

Yes, it is true that Colfes is more selective nowadays. For example all Colfes junior students needs to take 11+ exam to get into the senior Colfes. But that doesnt mean it is better school now and it wasnt before.
The average year group has between 120 to 130, with class sizes of approximately 24 pupils. A third of any year group will be made up of pupils from Colfe’s Junior School. Candidates are required to spend a full school day at Colfe’s. The morning will consist of assessments in English and Mathematics and a group interview.
Assessment is by age-appropriate academic and all-round suitability testing for the school. Places occasionally become available in year groups outside of the main entry points – please contact Admissions directly for more information. At Colfe’s Junior School we want our children to develop into confident, articulate adults.
Apr 9, 2024 · Exam length — 1x 45 minute maths exam + 1x 90 minute English exam. Pass mark — There is no fixed pass mark for the admissions test. Other exam and entry information: Applications must be submitted by the November of year 6 along with a non-refundable fee of £150. The assessment exams are sat in the January of year 6.

Introduction. Colfe’s School is a co-educational independent day school in Horn Park in the London Borough of Greenwich. It is one of the oldest schools in London. Originally established by John Glyn in 1574, Colfe’s School was re-founded in 1652 by the Reverend Abraham Colfe, Vicar of Lewisham. It became fully co-educational in 1999.
