Despite some nifty doo-dads and an amusing moment or two, CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD does a) star a prop comic with a screechy voice who's now relegated to cheap AT&T TV spots, and b) contain jokes that seem to have been written during the first Bush administration. It's a movie solely for C.T. fans (both of them).

Screenplay, Story. Surfer Edison isn't able to make ends meet with his inventions or his lifestyle. But then he meets billionaire Armand McMillian, who takes a shine to the young bum — so much so that he leaves his invention company to him upon his death. Unfortunately, Armand's nephew, Bradford, only gets a surfboard.
The only reason why she did the film was she really wanted to do comedy after doing 5 years of drama on "Melrose Place". To this day, Courtney has never seen the film. In the same Conan interview, Norm MacDonald made a joke that the 'board' in "Chairman of the Board" is spelled B-O-R-E-D.
