Okay, i just rewatched the Butcher short film and maybe I am missing something but the timeline doesn't make any sense to me. In the opening shot, Butcher wakes up in a parking lot and we know that Homelander dropped him there after their encounter with Becca.
This five-minute piece is not more than an advertisement, than "fan service". It is well done, but does not sustain itself independently from the series. Indeed, it shows much less than part of a single episode.
