Apr 2, 2024 · Breathe Film Review. For a film which depicts the life of a severely disabled man, Breathe is a remarkable celebration of life and love. At first, I was concerned that this movie might be a bit of a downer. But from the opening scenes of the English countryside scored to an upliftingly gorgeous piece of music, I knew I would be proven wrong.
Lastly, the concept of being alive features heavily. Indeed, the book and movie's titles are from this quote: "I've wondered whether the life-threatening high jinks that Loonie and I and Sando and Eva got up to in the years of my adolescence were anything more than a rebellion against the monotony of drawing breath."
