This list only includes legendary and above. Common/Rare units are not widely used for game progression or grinding. This tier list does not need to be followed exactly for unit value or usefulness, its purpose is to give you an idea of what to go for. S tier will show current meta.

This tier list was uploaded in the discord server on 6th December 2023 by one of the analysts.
For this mode you will need to bring slows, timestop and Anyah. These will help you deal with the higher health enemies as the waves go on. You will also need Thanos and Himilo as precautions since Himilo can assassinate below 20% health and Thanos will give you a few extra waves.
The Tier List below shows what is recommended for a casual infinite mode. Leaderboard will require only a few dps but mainly slows. (Made by one of the analysts in the Discord server).
This is a general guide/my observations: to succeed in PVP you will need a cohesive team, good farms and good dps. I would say that Rage Drago is essential but Blue Drago can help a lot, especially during titan spams. A majority of the ultimates are stellar options to take into PVP as they can deal with the colossal titans which spawn in at wave 30 (from summoning) as the titans are at around 6m health, provided that you use dragos. There is not much point in taking Eren as YouTuber units are somewhat easy to unlock and these can counter at the start easily. Units like Anyah and timestops can be handy. Greybeard is a great option to use if you don't have any of the limiteds or ultimates as his tsunami ability can help with gaining cash during spam (if you start to run out). If you lag out easily and can't use Greybeard during spams, you may be better off taking an extra farm or using Anyah since they are passive.
I've noticed that higher elo teams have opted towards taking Sealed Boris as their only dps units and filling the rest of their team with sacrificed/prestiged farms, crimson flamingo, rage drago and maybe a Todo/BB. This team is more orientated around Colossal spam after wave 30.
Note: Unleashed should be at tier A as well as Yochi.
