May 18, 2019 · What Are The Best Games Like Banished? Banished is a fantastic city-building survival game that will make anyone a fan of those genres gleeful. There are lots of great games out there that fit that bill though.
I get a light craving for banished once in a while. It's nice that it's such a compact game that I can just install and uninstall easily whenever I want. I've accumulated some 30 hours playing on and off so I've definitely got my money's worth. It's an impressive little game for a 1-man project.
- 'Age Of Empires' The Age Of Empires series focuses on real historical events, with the first game covering events in Europe, Asia, and Africa from the Stone Age to the Iron Age.
- Anno. Just like Banished, Anno is a strategy game that focuses on building. Players must establish colonies on a small island while taking care of things like managing resources, trading with other civilizations, and exploring the region.

Considerably different in a key way, but I found They Are Billions scratched the same city building itch as Banished. It's different because it's a survival game with hordes of zombies attacking, but if you build a good city then the survival is not too hard.
