Upon re-watching the movie Bambi today, I was expecting Bambi's mother's death scene to occur within at least the first 15 minutes of the 1 hour long movie. However, I was surprised when she only died about 35-40 minutes into the movie, in the second half of the movie.
Bambi's mom isn't mentioned a single time after she gets killed. The main reason the mom's death is so well remembered is because she and Bambi had such a strong bond that seeing (well hearing) her get shot all of a sudden really affects the viewer.
