Good acting, good action scenes, and a good story. But man is it silly. From the stupid choices they make at times, to the cartoonish effects, to Gary Oldman being insane.
Jul 25, 1997 · You know that Gary Oldman plays the leader of a gang of terrorists who gain control of Air Force One as it’s flying back home from Moscow. You know it’s up to Ford, as President James Marshall , Vietnam combat hero, to battle the terrorists.
I think Air Force One holds up well enough. The henchmen are a handful so the odds aren't always impossible and our hero gets to take them 1 or 2 at a time. Gary Oldman gives a fantastic performance as a villain, loud and over the top but just what the movie required.
Air Force One holds up almost 25 years later and the film remains one of the greatest presidential action thrillers to grace the big screen. Full Review | Original Score: 5/5 | Sep 27, 2020
Air Force One is awesome. As far as the "Die Hard on a Plane" genre goes, I prefer it to Passenger 57, Executive Decision and even Con Air (although that may depend on my mood - either Con Air or Air Force One is my number 1 choice).
