Oldman and his entourage of terrorists have entered Air Force One, as journalists, and hijack it, demanding the dictator be released. Ford is still on it, and tensions ensue. Yeah, it's Die Hard in the President's plane. But still, pretty good. Good acting, good action scenes, and a good story. But man is it silly.
Air Force One ultimately isn’t so much “Die Hard on a plane” (Fly Hard?) as much as it’s a Top Gun for grown-ups -- military hardware in the service of a red-white-and-blue chest thumper.
I think Air Force One holds up well enough. The henchmen are a handful so the odds aren't always impossible and our hero gets to take them 1 or 2 at a time. Gary Oldman gives a fantastic performance as a villain, loud and over the top but just what the movie required.

Air Force One is awesome. As far as the "Die Hard on a Plane" genre goes, I prefer it to Passenger 57, Executive Decision and even Con Air (although that may depend on my mood - either Con Air or Air Force One is my number 1 choice).
