To answer your questions in order: Yes. Mostly good, but the first few episodes are slow. Yes. Some events from the movies heavily influence the plot of the show, & other events are mentioned in passing. The movies have a few easter-egg references to the show, but nothing essential.
As everyone else has said you should watch it. When you watch it, binge watch the first 10 episodes, doing that will get you past the weakest part of the show. It will make over arching plot that is subtle in those episodes connect much better.
