Yes it's worth watching, most of the first season is monster of the week type stuff but a few episodes contain important information related to the overall show. If you can make it through to the Winter Soldier tie in then it's mostly plain sailing from that point onwards, each season is generally better than the last.

Definitely worth watching. The first few seasons slug on at times, but it really picks up steam and is worth every second. The characters are lovable, the plot is well-crafted, the twists are shocking, and it’s overall fantastic!
All I can say is, to fans of the MCU, you're missing out if you haven't seen this show. The beginning episodes do drag on a bit, but they're important for building team dynamic and character. For the first season, you're watching for the tie-ins, because you liked the movies.
