Jan 13, 2011 · Stingray makes a good boat. We owned a 2004 Stingray 185LS and it served us well. It was definitely much better constructed than a Bayliner. I owned a 21 foot Bayliner a few years before the Stingray and things kept breaking. Never had that issue with our Stingray. We just ordered a Stingray 215LR.

We took the boat to a wide-open throttle of 4,900 rpm, where it hit a top speed of 50.5 mph. Stingray has rated the 220DR's top speed as 52.1 mph, which certainly seems doable.
