Aug 17, 2017 · No, you do not have to start a new game. Mods are just changes to the xml files. Close the game, apply the mod and restart it. Since you are the host, your friend should automatically receive the changes unless the mod adds something new (like artwork, i.e. SMX)
When we play, i just start my game, and then they join me through the steam friends list. Do they also need the mod on their PC's if they join my game? There's going to be a lot of smaller mods that your group will probably like that aren't going to get mentioned. Think stuff like adding cosmetic items, new zombie packs, and small tweaks here or there. Darkness Falls is probably going to be a highly recommended one as it's very popular.
