The Untouchables (1987) — Too Hollywoody? I found this to be a pretty enjoyable but ultimately artifice movie in its behavior and sentimentally straightforward in its morals.

Here is a movie about an era when law enforcement resembled gang warfare, but the movie seems more interested in the era than in the war. “The Untouchables” has great costumes, great sets, great cars, great guns, great locations and a few shots that absolutely capture the Prohibition Era.

Dec 18, 2020 · Personally, whilst The Untouchables is a good film, I don’t think there’s a lot in this to make it particularly notable or outstanding above any of the others. It’s engaging and interesting, which it should be considering the subject matter – it is based on a true story after all.

Ford Model Ts pass on the street, a traincar runs overhead, and a few scattered pedestrians populate the sidewalks. It’s a sublime recreation of old Chicago.
