Sep 17, 2010 · The story, action and characters are all engaging and well-crafted, and if the progression between Gone Baby Gone and this film is any indication, Affleck's next (third) film is going to likely blow our collective socks off. Sep 15, 2010 · “The Town” shows, as his first film “Gone Baby Gone” (2007) did, that Affleck has the stuff of a real director. Everything is here. It’s an effective thriller, he works closely with actors, he has a feel for pacing.
The Town was great and certainly more accessible, but Gone Baby Gone is the better overall movie. I think it has the better script and performances.
