First off, the Hurt locker is a very good film that actually does some justice to those who served during that conflict. The movie has a lot of accuracy in regards to Iraq, the war and our troops- basically, their struggle in that atmosphere.
Ten years later and The Hurt Locker is still not a good movie. Discussion. It won best picture and was critically acclaimed yet nobody ever talks about or even remembers this film. At the time I found it completely lacking, it had no plot and had absolutely nothing to say about the Iraq War.

Probably in the top 5 directing I've seen in cinema. It was incredibly intense, and took me a while to wind down after watching it. Great acting too. EDIT: I'll sound dumb for saying this, but I hadn't heard of the film until I saw the Golden Globes nominations.
