I've been having a really good time with it so far, but it seems that a lot of people think it's not worth watching due to the second half of the anime. I haven't spoiled anything for myself, but from what I've heard, the story starts taking itself too seriously later on in the anime.
I actually think it's a damn good adaptation... for the first 40 episodes. The last dozen episodes are definitely lower quality and it's noticeable: the episodes become so cheesy and generic. But I still enjoyed it anyway. If you enjoy the manga, then I think the anime is worth a watch.
Soul Eater actually follows the manga extremely closely until it diverges at a very specific point. And outside two relatively minor changes ( [in episode 13] , and in the test episode they make Ox a jerk for no reason), most of the early changes it makes are for the better if anything.

What really stops this series from being a great series is that the story is dull and you feel like that the show is moving like a snail on a freeway in the middle of the series.

Jan 1, 2010 · Nov 2010. 21. The anime is quite interesting and worth watching. However, the anime ending (or last episodes) isn't as good as the other episodes, producers just made up a low-quality ending in order to put an end in the series.
