Roger Ebert liked the film, giving it 3 out of 4 stars, and stated in his review that "although the plot may seem like a formulaic slasher film, P2 is in fact a very well made, atmospheric thriller with gritty yet realistic characters."

  6. Dec 22, 2019 · The movie has some good atmosphere, and a few good scares. The first real one of the film (there had been a dumb fakeout earlier) is incredibly effective. The movie does drag a bit.

Franck Khalfoun does a good job directing the movie by keeping it moving along at a brisk pace and intermixing the interaction between the characters with a few surprisingly vicious, eye-opening scenes. Bentley does a good job switching between the different facets of Thomas’ deranged personality .
