Julien Donkey-Boy is a 1999 American experimental drama film written and directed by Harmony Korine. The story concentrates on Julien, a man with schizophrenia, played by Scottish actor Ewen Bremner, and his dysfunctional family. The film also stars Chloë Sevigny as Julien's sister, Pearl, and Werner Herzog as his father.
In contrast, little is graceful and daddy is not dear in Julien's world. His father listens to blues wearing a gas mask; dad prods, lectures, and derides Julien as well as Julien's brother and pregnant sister, while grandma attends to her dog. Julien is different, schizophrenic. He wears gold teeth.

Sep 26, 2000 · 2 May 2008... Ewen Bremner gives a hugely emotional, perceptive performance as a shizophrenic saddled with a nasty father in a film which is saddled with its own pretension.
Indeed, it's difficult to work out quite who is the flakiest - Bremner's shouty schizophrenic, Sevigny's empty-headed, harp-playing mother-to-be, or Herzog's apparently psychotic paterfamilias.
Julien is different, schizophrenic. He wears gold teeth. He bowls, sings, worships, and chats with a group of young adults with disabilities. His sister's child is probably his own. He talks on the phone, imagining it's his mother, who died in childbirth years before. He may be a murderer of children.
