- Is The Ending Meant To Be Interpreted Literally Or Metaphorically? By the time that the end credits of Hereditary roll, we're stunned by the incredible film that we have just watched.
- Was Ann Dowd And The Cult Spying On The Family? A staple storyline of many horror films is feeling like a serial killer, spectral figure, demon, or otherwise creepy creature is spying on the main characters.
- What About Annie's Husband/Charlie And Peter's Dad? Did we watch this movie and wonder, "Why wouldn't Paimon posses the dad?" After all, he's a male, and if Paimon needed a male host, then that would make sense, and it seems like he would go for the character played by Gabriel Bryne.
- Was Charlie Ever Real Or Was She Always Paimon? The test of a great horror movie is definitely the ending. The final moments are a really big deal. If it doesn't seem logical, there aren't enough explanations, or if there is a crazy twist that doesn't seem earned, audiences aren't going to be thrilled.

- Ari Aster’s disturbing shorts got the studio’s attention. Hereditary was most fans’ introduction to Ari Aster, but it wasn’t his first work of cinema.
- Hereditary was inspired by another unsettling movie. Aster’s vision for Hereditary was inspired by a few horror staples including Carrie (1976) and Rosemary’s Baby (1968).
- Toni Collette was hesitant to take the lead role. Toni Collette’s performance as Annie is rightly lauded as a highlight of Hereditary, as well as a highlight of her acting career.
- Aster avoided calling Hereditary a "horror movie." Any movie that has as much satanism, decapitation, and creepy kid content as Hereditary does automatically falls into the horror genre.
The mounting distress of Annie's 13-year-old daughter Charlie becomes evident, and her older brother Peter begins to feel the relentless anguish of culpability. Now, little by little, a sinister dark presence robs Annie of her free will, demanding a cruel sacrifice in exchange for glorious rewards.
